1987 Ford Festiva L review from North America
"A very reliable, durable, little car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had the engine rebuilt when I bought the car at 101,500 miles. (Due to damage done by previous owner}
Other than routine upkeep, I have not had anything major go wrong with the car.
The clutch was changed at about 150,000miles.
The exhaust, from the catalytic converter back was changed at 215,000 miles.
Car still has the original engine and transmission.
General comments?
Car handles well, does very well in snow, ice, and inclement weather.
The steering is finally getting a little loose after 218,000 miles and 18 years. But the car still handles well.
The 1.3 liter engine is not the most powerful, but provides ample power.
There are not many options with an L, but what it has still work well.
I would not be at all afraid to drive this car across the country.
This car has never had to be towed in the six years that I have owned it.
