Faults:

Since these are direct-injection engines, the fuel does not clean the intake valves. Over time, carbon deposits accumulate, causing hesitation and misfires.

A design flaw in the engine block causes the cylinder head gasket to deteriorate, allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber. This is indicated by a drop in coolant levels without visible leaks and white exhaust smoke during cold starts.

Many people talk about issues with the PowerShift transmission; personally, I haven't had any problems, perhaps I'm just lucky, but so far, the transmission has proven reliable. However, maintenance and operational checks are vital, as the unit can jerk or shudder if the fluid and filter changes haven't been performed rigorously every 60,000 km.

General Comments:

The car may be an MPV, but it handles exactly like a sedan, specifically a sports sedan, as it is very fast and agile.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Ford EcoBoost engine in my Galaxy; it doesn't consume much fuel, considering it's a heavy vehicle (just under 8 l/100 km), and it completely transforms the car's driving dynamics. It delivers punchy acceleration (0 to 100 km/h in about 8.5 seconds) and very agile pickup, making it ideal for safe overtaking even when the car is fully loaded; you can travel with your family with total peace of mind in this regard.

The Ghia trim level stands out for its comfort; while the car is comfortable by nature, this particular version is highly luxurious. It typically features high-quality upholstery, aircraft-style seatback trays, an overhead storage console, and tri-zone climate control with dedicated air vents for the second and third rows.

Unlike many modern SUVs, the Galaxy's third row of seats can accommodate two average-sized adults with decent legroom. Why have manufacturers abandoned MPVs in favor of SUVs? I just don't get it.

For a vehicle of such large dimensions and heavy weight, its agility on the road is surprising. The steering is precise, and the suspension absorbs bumps excellently without excessive body roll. It brakes very well, too, and everything runs just like the day it was new, provided the scheduled maintenance is kept up.

I'm really happy with this thing; I think it was the best thing Ford has done here in Europe in the last 30 years, along with the Mondeo. Luxurious, spacious, and high-quality.

General Comments:

Very impressed, drives very well, good fuel economy for a 1.8 ton 7 seater, and goes well for what it is.

For some reason, it does not have cruise control, which is standard on Mondeos, which are far cheaper.

Seats are very comfortable on long runs compared to the 05 Mondeo it replaced, which gave me serious backache on a run.

People in older shape Galaxys/Picassos/Zafiras trying to race with you all the time; what is that all about?
