I have had a 1996 Lynx for the last five years, it has completed 30,000 when I picked it up. It has just clicked over 110,000. Its been a little gem. The only issue lately is a clunking noise when it turns (occassionally) although it doesn't seem to appear when sent for a service.

I agree the rear blind spots are a horror.

I would like a rear sun visor for the vehicle. Does anyone know where I could get one? I expect there were more of these vehicles in other countries and parts might be more readily available there.

Cheers.

Mark.

If your looking for parts overseas, the Lynx was released as the Mazda Neo in japan.

It needs taller gearing? Had my sister's 3 spd auto laser 1986 goes incredibly well and going great at 430,000. But about the gearing is doing around 3900-4000rpm around 110-115kmh and the engine never even heats up over one third even on hot days

Help. I'm living in Malaysia. Have used this car since 2004 as my 4th car. As this is a fun revving car, I decided to drive it regularly as it's cheap to run too.

My problem..

What OEM is best for my suspension system? The stock became very hard on small holes, but still good at corners. Anyone experienced replacing the stock with fully adjustable type?

Had an accident and the ABS is broken.. how to fix it? Gives me headache as the rear disc brake is damaged too. Are there any other Mazda or Ford parts that can slot into my car?

Tried swapping in custom 4-2-1 headers with a big sports muffler... but power decreased drastically.

Now I'm looking to add another performance gadget. Maybe Greddy EManage, Qchip, SAFC or others with replacing into racing clutch, lighten pulleys, K&N or others, but trying to avoid bolting on turbos.

Your comment please..

I have this car, I learnt to drive in it :)

By the way, the 1.8L version of this car is actually called Ford Laser XR3i, similar to the Ford Escort XR3i.

The Ford Laser Lynx is the standard version, whereas the XR3i is the sport version.

It has always been a real fun car to drive, handles exceptionally well and has a lot of power for a car its size.

We have also had problems with the CV, but been fixed now.

Other than that it's been pretty reliable.

Best car I've driven for fun... except for my current car, a Subaru Legacy GT Wagon :) Gotta love twin turbos...

Anyways I would recommend this car for people who have already had driving experience and looking for something with a bit more *Zip*... Bit too much for a learner driver, trust me.

Hello I am just about to buy 1995 Ford Lynx 1.8. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the disadvantages so I can knock the price lower. In my opinion I have found no disadvantages in this car, it is just perfect. Thank you.
