1987 Ford Laser KE GL review from Australia and New Zealand

Due to the car being hammerd by a previous owner there were various problems. The radiator needed to be fixed due to car being driven hard with low water, loose wheel baring. At the moment the CV joints r on their way, but whats to expect with 325,000+ kms and the cars had a hard life. Aside that the car runs amazingly well.

The problems were only due to the car being treated like the racing car it isn't.

Most of the above problems were fixed and the car runs like new, its amazing on petrol and cheap to run in general. Can be gutless when coming up hills, but that's nothing. I use it almost everyday and around $40 fills the tank and that will last a lot longer than an average V6 sedan. It's a five speed manual, the gears change very nicely and the clutch has a good amount of free-play so you don't need to push it right to the floor to change gears. This also makes slow moves like reverse parralel parking and that easy to do without stalling. The heater is amazing, I've never felt a heater so nice and warm in a car before, in fact after having it on for only 5 minutes you feel too hot and need to turn it off for a while.

No power steering makes turning in tight spaces a little bit hard, over all the car is a great car if you want something to run about the city in.

Bad things besides not having power steering would be the seats, they're a bit hard, but do the job for a short trip.

The car isn't designed as a high performance car so it doesn't like being thrashed.
