I have a 89 Ford Probe (lx) and I am doing a bunch of mods to the engine and was wondering what all I would have to change like; the computer or guage cluster or whatnot to put a turbo on it. I was just planning on adding a boost guage on the dash instead of changing the guage cluster, but I'm not sure what else would be needed to change.

I am planning on buying a 89 Probe GT from like a junkyard just to get the manifold and stuff like that then upgrading the turbo.

Thanks!!

The cars aren't meant to run 12 psi, not with the stock turbo. In case you don't know already, the reason your stuck at 12 psi is because the ECU is programmed not to let it go any higher.

As for the guy who says that the car runs a stock boost of 6, again do some research buddy, they run at over 7 and overboost to over 9 at 3000 rpm ,so get your facts right. No wonder people like you have so many problems with their turbos - it's because you don't know how to a) work on them b) modify them and c) take care of them.

Hey, I have a 1989 Probe GT, and I want to know what I can do to make the boost go up more.. I just recently got a cone air filter from Auto Zone, but was thinking of getting a K&N air filter now. Would it make a difference? The one I got was on one of the counter things... and also I was wondering if I should get a performance chip, but I don't know if they really work... but please let me know how to make the boost get more power.

Use a Granger valve for more boost.
