1984 Ford Ranger 2.3L Inline 4 from North America

Summary:

One Tough Little Ranger

Faults:

When I got the truck it had a tired engine in it, and would max out at 45 mph. After one day in my school's parking lot of revving the engine, it just quit. I then had another 2.3L put back in the truck from a Mustang.

Other things replaced:

Fuel Pump

Valve cover gasket

Muffler.

General Comments:

I loved this truck, it was a tough little truck. It got me around with good fuel mileage. I used to drive it back and forth to Pennsylvania from VA all the time.

Summary:

This is a tough little truck

Faults:

Had to replace the engine, the original one was blown. Clutch went up. Distributer cap replaced, and valve cover gasket.

General Comments:

All in all this truck is a solid truck. I really miss it. It got me everywhere with little problems. It has good styling too, and can be made into a pretty sharp looking pickup.

I have, as a backup vehicle, a 1984 Ford Ranger also. I feel that it is not reliable whatsoever. I am always putting money into mine to keep it running and would never buy another ford ranger ever.
