1988 Ford Telstar Ghia 1.8 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Good overall everyday driver

Faults:

Central vent oscillator unit has failed.

Air-con has suddenly stopped going cold, only goes cool now.

Air cleaning unit no longer cleans the air and the fan is noisy.

Slight rust in the front wheel well.

General Comments:

Car starts first try every time.

Plenty of power from the Injected 1.8L engine.

Interior VERY plush, lots of cushioning on the seats and the seats are wider than normal.

Lots of small compartments to put things in.

1988 Ford Telstar TX5 2.2L turbo from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A very fun and cheap Turbo car

Faults:

A few oil leaks, but nothing that is not general maintenance.

Electric window switches are a real bugger... had to get second hand ones from the wrecker a few times.

General Comments:

This car in it's standard form is enough to have some fun with.

If you throw a 3" exhaust, K&N filter, and drop the suspension 2" the car is quite quick (enough to blow the V6 Holden's from the lights)

I also have a AT Telstar TX5. Its done 214000 kms, but it still is a top car. It can out-handle my mate on his Yamaha FJ750 around the corners. Iv'e spent $15000 on suspension and paint and it turns more heads than a monaro. Cheap thrills.
