1990 GMC 1/2 Ton SLE 5.7L from North America

Summary:

Great old work horse

Faults:

Alternator went at 267000 km.

Rings were starting to go at 265000.

General Comments:

This truck was bulletproof. Hard on gas, but started without fail, regardless of temperatures as low as -40c. The truck always had a solid ride, great power, and pretty good comfort for the year of the truck.

These trucks are die hards, and very great to have as a work vehicle or a beater.

1990 GMC 1/2 Ton 1500 5.7 350 from North America

Summary:

A very good deal

Faults:

My head gasket blew at 128,000 miles, which lead me to replacing the motor. It was a junk yard motor out of a 1994 Chevy Silver ado with 80,000 miles on it.

I have replaced the alternator several times.

The starter has recently been acting up, not starting on the first time I turn the key.

Over the past years the paint has be peeling very badly.

General Comments:

The Truck is overall very dependable, It gets me to work and back everyday, and an 80 mile drive home from school almost every weekend.

It has a lot of get up and go! When I step on the pedal I am moving and moving fast.

Paint peel is from water base paint. Factory will re paint if under 5 years old.
