2003 GMC Sierra SLT review from North America
"I expected better quality from GMC!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
GM has a real problem with their transfer cases. My Sierra 4x4 2500HD Turbo diesel w/Allison transmission is on its third transfer case, and its drive train warranty ran out at 100,000 miles. I am told that the pump inside came loose. I don't know, but it will cost you over $2500 for a replacement to be installed.
Several of the dealer mechanics have told me that they have seen several of these transfer cases go bad. Sounds like GMC should step up to the plate and admit that their transfer cases have a problem. They extended the injector warranty to 200,000 miles because of problems.
General comments?
My GMC Sierra 4x4 Crew cab, SLT, Diesel w/Allison is an awesome truck when it's running!
