1993 GMC Sonoma SL 2.5 4 Tech from North America

Summary:

Very dependable little truck that will never let you down

Faults:

Bought for $500.

Did an oil change and a tune up, and she runs like new.

Bed is rotting away, but is still strong enough for 1500LBS of scrap metal.

Bad ground somewhere that made the dash lights go out.

That's it; 2 very minor problems.

General Comments:

Very strong little truck.

I have read reviews on here that this truck bottoms out with 300 lbs in the back. I have had almost 2,000 LBS in the back and it still did not bottom out, drove like nothing.

Very strong engine, bullet proof, have had no issues with this truck at all, best 500 I ever spend, made me $2,000 in cash in the past 2 months of owning it, paid for itself in 2 weeks.

1993 GMC Sonoma SLE 4.3 gas from North America

Summary:

Keep this truck away from highway road salt

Faults:

The alternator seized and prevented the engine from turning over.

The body rusted through in less than 5 years.

The front disk brakes have been replaced twice and the rear drums replaced once.

The sway bar has come loose several times.

The tie rod ends have been replaced at least three times.

The radiator has been replaced once.

The water pump has been replaced once.

The starter has been replaced three times.

The hoses to and from the oil filter have been replaced once.

The front end has to realigned each season.

The lumbar support adjuster knobs broke off both front seats within the first year.

The brakes have failed to respond twice, right after dropping out of 4 wheel drive. There is a recall on the braking system.

The four wheel drive drops out at speed resulting in a very expensive sounding clash of gears until the electronic encoder (shifter) switch is returned to 2 wheel drive. The encoder has been replaced once and repaired twice.

General Comments:

I enjoy the acceleration the larger engine gives, but the gas mileage is on the order of 60 liters (15 gallons) for 400 kilometers (250 miles) in the city. Efficiency improves a bit on the highway.

I enjoy the extended cab, but frankly there is not enough room in the jump seats for an adult to sit without being seriously scrunched up.

1993 GMC Sonoma SLE 2.5L 4-Cylinder from North America

Summary:

A great running and very dependable truck

Faults:

At 160,000 I know that the previous owner rebuilt the engine completely.

Most recently I've replaced all brake lines, rotors, calipers, and pads.

Transmission has a vibration, but when greased it stops.

The seats are worn, but I have a bench seat cover to help.

General Comments:

I bought this truck for $1,500 about a year ago and I will never regret the purchase because the truck is great.

I get good gas mileage to and from school and work and wherever else I go. I drive 35+ minutes to school everyday. And from school to work about 45. I usually only fill up once a week with all the driving I do.

The truck is very reliable.

It only has minor rust and that's with the Michigan winters it has been through. The only spots rusting are the cab corners and the lower tailgate.

I love driving the truck its fairly spacious for a taller person like myself. You wouldn't expect to see a tall person in this truck considering its size, but it is pretty spacious for me.

1993 GMC Sonoma SLE Ex-Cab 4.3L from North America

Summary:

One (QUICK) little V-6

Faults:

I had to re-place the driver window motor twice, And the rear tires three times, I Can't seem to keep any rubber on the tires, From leaving every stop sign and catching seconds all day long, The speed-O is hard to see during daylight hours when the sun is out, Who needs a speed-O anyhow, Besides these little troubles if you call them that this little truck is 100% made GM product!.

General Comments:

A very quick truck for a V-6 4.3L on pump gas. I had a Mustang G.T. that had A 302 H.O. (5.0) manual 5-speed that would have had A problem keeping up with this little pick-up. And I had it for 2-Years and never had to re-place the tires even once. So I give this little (huh, huh) beast a 10+++ and then some rating! =D> ;;) :D :">
