1972 Holden Kingswood HQ 202 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Good car, but thirsty on gas

Faults:

The ignition switch failed, and the starter motor fell out on the road.

Occasionally the gear selectors would jam (easily fixed with some quick finger work)

General Comments:

I bought this car in 1987 for $3500 NZ, just as the Japanese imports were starting to flood into the country. I sold it two years later for $800.00.

1972 Holden Kingswood HQ 202 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Sex on wheels

Faults:

Interior needs has worn badly and could do with a clean up.

Radiator was mint until someone cracked the top while putting Premier nosecone on. Was from a Falcon and fitted in perfectly.

Brakes have been replaced and I still get pulled up when it's time for a Warranty of Fitness.

Can be heavy to drive when the car is full, but no lowering springs needed.

Parts are getting more hard to find.

General Comments:

Excellent for cruising looking for boys.

Staunch and sturdy. I'm not worried if I have an accident cause I know the other car will come off worse.

I am restoring it as best I can and loving every minute of it.

1972 Holden Kingswood HQ 3.3L Red from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Darn good family car

Faults:

The ignition system (key end) had a short in it. The indicator lever became the horn:)

The timing is a little bit out.

Seats are badly worn.

General Comments:

A very economical car to run, very simple to work on.

The suspension is really soft and the car sinks ten inches when even a light person gets in it.

The front bench seats are dodgy. Whenever I go turn right the passenger hits the door!

1972 Holden Kingswood HQ 202ci from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A real man's car, the king of the road!

Faults:

Nothing yet! It's mint!

General Comments:

Holden continue to do it at Bathurst, and continue to do it for me on the road! Not like those guttless Fords!
