2013 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4 gas from North America

Summary:

Fantastic car with roomy, comfortable interior

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Was at the dealer looking for a new Civic, but couldn't get leather seats and wheel without having to also take Navi. I just didn't like the way it looked. So I tested the Accord instead. Fell in love immediately. After 2.5 years of running this car, it still amazes me every time I drive it how good it is. I have had a few Civics and 4 other Accords, as well as other cars from other manufacturers over the years, and 3 years in a car will be a record for me. I can't imagine myself not in this car in 2023. It is a shame however that if you want the Accord hybrid now, the cost is so outrageous that any normal customer will likely never save enough fuel to pay the 7000 dollar upcharge. Still our Accord has hit the 5.5l/100km mark many times on the highway, and has a range of about 1000 km. I typically drive 100km/hr, because this car is so fun to be in I wouldn't want to be in it less.

I love how this car seems to to glide over the roads in comfort, but if pushed hard on the off ramps, it feels firm enough to want to be pushed harder. Comes standard with a tower brace (nice touch).

Equipped with a set of Nokian Hakkapillita R2's, winters here in New Brunswick have been a breeze with the electronic traction control keeping the car plowing through the crazy snowstorms we get. There is a button to disable it, but I have never even considered pushing it.

2013 Honda Accord Executive 2.0 petrol from Bulgaria

Summary:

Very good saloon with excellent manufacturing and disgusting customer service

Faults:

Nothing so far.

However a hailstorm damaged the roof, bonnet, hood and front window, and it now sits for 4 months already, waiting to be repaired.

General Comments:

Pretty comfortable. Look for perforated leather seats; they are very supportive.

Performance is decent, however at the expense of fuel pretty comparable to my old 12-year old Mazda 626.

Automatic wipers are very precise, but the real gain is the automatic short/long headlight beams. The software is absolutely a wonder; it detects cars well ahead and changes the headlights.

The trunk is not very big and the size is awkward - you can fit many small bags, but not 2 big suitcases. Room inside is not abundant, although it has big external dimensions.

The stereo system is outdated for 2013 - only B/W and 2-line display, like an old Opel. Overall a good car for 2008 when introduced, but not for 2013.

The thing which spoils the good features is the customer service - I have never seen in my 18 years of motoring life such a bad dealer. I raised a claim to Honda Europe and got no call back, although the appointed agent claimed to notify them several times.

I will never pass by Honda dealership again.

2013 Honda Accord Sport 2.4 from North America

Summary:

Great car, lousy seat comfort!

General Comments:

It has the worst seats; they're hard. Some people are bothered by the head rests. I know I am in pain on trips over 10 minutes with this car. I have tried several 1 inch cushions, but then you sit up higher and then I run into the head rest.

I bought the Sport model, and it rides stiffer than the non Sport models. One person compared it to a pogo stick effect.

Honda really needs to rework these seats or they will lose customers.

I have had good luck with other Honda products, but this has been a real problem, I leased the car, so may trade it in early. I have not checked what my options are, but may go to an older used Infiniti G35 or a Hyundai/Kia.
