2009 Honda City 1.5 i-VTEC from Kingdom of Bahrain

Summary:

The Honda City is a good small car

Faults:

The battery dead on me just after 6 months of normal use.

The transmission is very jerky, especially when slowing down... i.e the car doesn't change to the right gear at the right time.

General Comments:

The exterior of the car is very good-looking, compared to the older generation, the exterior is very symmetric... the backside of the car is not as bad as it was before.

The Honda City was known as the ugly, smallish, geeky looking car ... fortunately that belief is gone with the new looks.

The interior is very superior, compared to a car from the same class as the Honda City. The only flaw is that everything is made from the hard plastic, but that is not a big of a deal, since that plastic is high quality, & is made accurately.

The front seats are very comfortable, & you have a little bit more room for your legs than the older generation, especially the driver seat... Just don't roll back the seat too much, or the person who is setting behind you will suffer, yes the back seats have very tight space. With all that tightness you can't even put your foot under the front seat, because it is badly descended to the floor.

The engine is very economic, as long as you drive less than 75 mph. THAT is one of the strongest sides of this car, & that is what Honda City is known for. Generally, the VTEC engine is known for its balance between the engine power & the fuel consumption.

To be fair, when you compare the City to the cars from the same level... the City takes the lead... just don't expect miracles from such a low-end car... ie don't compare it to a higher class vehicles like the Civic or Mazda 3... etc.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
