1986 Honda Integra SX from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Can be a lot of fun and nice to look at, but very expensive to repair"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Replaced clutch soon after getting the car.

Alternator needed replacing at around 250000km.

Brakes Master Cylinder was leaking when I purchased the car.

Fuel Pump seized recently.

The interior is slowly beginning to wear.

Some small rust spots on roof and front right quarter panel, but paint is in good condition other than that.

Springs and shockers need replacing all round.

Hole in exhaust.

General comments?

Car handles well when the shockers and tires are good, if they aren't launching the car hard can become very difficult.

Steering is extremely heavy at slow speeds, but it can make for very precise cornering.

The engine is punchy enough for it's size. Would like to do some sort of light tuning to it, but finances just aren't a possibility right now.

The car is almost 20 years old, totally clapped out and you're talking about doing some "mild tuning" to it?

You're nuts.

Our poor clapped out 20 year old Honda has been winning Autocross events in Vic. Australia in modified class (It runs 2nd hand rally tyres which designates it "modified") despite no modification except a pod filter and a straight through exhaust. It's not perfect, but it gets frustrating for others who spent more on tyres than we have on the car.
