2010 Honda Pilot Touring 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

This Pilot has been very reliable and has served us well

Faults:

The only non maintenance issue I have had with my Pilot is the compliance bushings leaking, which were replaced under warranty including the wheel alignment. Honda extended the warranty for these parts to 100K miles and replaced them when I took it in for a required annual state inspection. The repair was done quickly, and the dealership was easy and professional to deal with.

General Comments:

So far this vehicle has been great. It's been very reliable with routine maintenance; oil/transmission fluid changes, tire rotations and brake pad replacement. The gas mileage is about what I would expect for its size: 15-16 city, 19-20 highway, and I'm a bit heavy on the pedal.

Interior is fairly comfortable and spacious, and has held up well. Honda could have used more soft touch material, especially with the hard plastic dash.

I definitely recommend the 4WD model if buying a Pilot; worked great in a 16 inch snow storm on a trip last year; didn't get stuck once on the 230 mile trip. My sister's 2WD Pilot could not do it.

2010 Honda Pilot LX 3.5 from North America

Summary:

Excellent Engineering; Mileage not so great

Faults:

Not one issue in 28,000 miles. Rock solid engineering.

General Comments:

Great SUV overall, excellent engineering and reliability.

The main issue is mileage. Respectfully to Honda, our LX 4WD did not get anywhere near 16mpg around town as per the window sticker. More like 13/14 mpg.

Highway mileage was better, over a 1200 mile highway trip, we averaged 21.2 miles per gallon with four people and gear.

There is a big difference between highway and around town mileage.

If you are looking for a long-term SUV, for example you need to tow a boat now and then, it's a great choice.

We just regretfully traded ours in; I'll miss it. We were putting a tank of gas in a week for around town. If gas gets up to $5.50 a gallon, that'll be $100 a week.

I did keep the tires aired up and maintenance very up to date, if anyone thinks the mileage difference was tire or maintenance related.

2010 Honda Pilot EX-L with RES 6 from North America

Summary:

Large and in charge for your life

Faults:

No problems to speak of yet. The car has not even had its first oil change yet.

General Comments:

The love for this truck is superior over my truck of the past. The third row, entertainment center, the leather with heated seats, the sun roof, the pretty interior and on and on.

There are so many points that it is a must if any one is looking to buy a vehicle with a third row. The family truckster is back again. The possibilities of all that you can do with this truck are endless. I have a bike, 2 dogs, and a car seat in it, try that with the basic SUV/ TRUCK.

The (VCM) VARIABLE CYLINDER MANAGEMENT, that shuts down 3 cylinders to save energy and gas is great. Too much to say, just test drive one today.
