1. Electronic key on rare occasions malfunctions.
2. Bottom front grille scoop dislodged.
3. When reclining drivers seat, an annoying creak is audible.
I upgraded from a standard VY Clubsport (series 1) to an R8 because I wanted the extra bells and whistles, the better stereo, the 285 kilowatts and the higher performance brake package.
Acceleration is much improved and smoother, a far cry from the annoying flat spots I encountered in earlier models.
The premium brake package stops you quickly and smoothly giving you the confidence and peace of mind that you require for this type of car. Why HSV do not fit these brakes across all models is a mystery to me.
Full leather upholstered front seats are very comfortable and electronic seat adjustment also for the front passenger is a plus.
Interior design looks great with first time passengers being fascinated with dashboard layout especially at night when green illumination comes into play.
The rear sub-woofers are a bit of an overkill for us oldies, but would be appreciated by younger owners or those teens borrowing the car when daddy is having a nap.
The overall performance of this car is impressive and it also has the stunning looks that would certainly qualify it as a "hard to beat package".
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
