2005 Hummer H3 from North America

Summary:

Fun to drive and looks great!

Faults:

Both remotes have broke off of key chain giving no way to secure them.

General Comments:

The engine is very much underpowered for a vehicle this size. If you can live with the slow pick-up, it's a great SUV. I have enjoyed it and would consider buying another.

2005 Hummer H3 Adventure Package 3.5 liter Vortech inline 5 DOHC from North America

Summary:

Almost perfect for me

Faults:

Blower motor resistors burnt out at 5K because it got water in it somehow. I replaced this myself and sealed with silicone. No problems ever since.

General Comments:

This thing works awesome for what I use it for. Mostly commuting, but my driveway is a 500 yard dirt path through the woods, and it usually is either very muddy or covered in snow.

2005 Hummer H3 from North America

Summary:

The way America should be!

Faults:

Problem with the door lock.

Someone ran their Subaru into my passenger door. Got fixed with a new door.

A nice person sprayed my wonderful truck with lead shot, new paint, but the BB dings are still there.

Rear driver tire kept going flat, found out I had a 4 inch nail in my tire. Got new tire, now she's good.

General Comments:

I love this truck.

I was tempted by the earlier H1 and H2 models, but when I heard that GM was making another Hummer I knew this was the time.

Since its smaller than the other Hummers, I find that it is more able to maneuver through the city, or narrow trails.

The 4 wheel drive works great, I need it since I live in Maine.

I'm not really sure what to make of all the "bad press" that the entire Hummer line has had to endure. I myself am not arrogant and do not appreciate other Hummer owners being called arrogant. But I suppose that everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I still think that this SUV is a wonderful vehicle.

Really, the only thing I am not sure about is the engine setup, but it seems to work fine right now :)

What a wonderful and powerful review, you sold me. God bless America. We make such great products here, I don't see how people can buy imports when they can buy a real car.

(To the original reviewer)

I have heard that these new Hummer H3's only have a V6 engine, if this is the case, does it have much power? also I am curious as to whether it has enough interior room, when I saw it at the Portland auto show, it looked as if the inside was a bit small.

The reason people buy imports is because the quality and reliability on imports is far more superior then anything American. God bless the Imports.

But the H3 is built on a Chevy Colorado chassis and it only has a 5 cylinder, which is underpowered. You are just buying the Hummer name because there is nothing good about this truck. I like the H2 but the H3 is just lame.

Well obviously the reviewer, who actually owns one, thinks there are several things good about this truck. At least he seems happy with it, despite your assertion that there is nothing good about this truck. You know it's no good because you own one, I suppose...no?

No, but my brother owns an H2 which is a gas hog, but it's a good truck. He was looking at buying an Escalade and they tried to show him an H3 and man that thing is small and underpowered. For 30K plus, you might as well buy a new Tahoe.
