1997 Infiniti I30 vq30de ( V6 3.0 ) from Brazil

Summary:

Low profile style with a stunning performance

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

Very good engine performance : high punch from a small v6.

With the electronic suspension in "sport" mode it can take winding roads well. If you tune to "normal" the car become a boat.

Some cricket noises are found in the cabin, but only until you turn the Bose 200Watt audio on.

The style has two realities : A happy "jaguaresque" front grille and a sad horizontal rear. Too bad the bad side is the most visible to the other drivers.

1997 Infiniti I30 3.0L from North America

Summary:

A conservative, luxurious sports sedan

Faults:

Rear emergency brake cables replaced under warranty.

Transmission shudders when disengaging overdrive.

Turn signal lamp had water intrusion which caused operating difficulties - also fixed under warranty.

Front part of the hood attracts chips and dings from road rocks like crazy.

Rear wheels cannot be aligned. If out of spec, must replace the axle or have a frame shop bend back to within spec!?!?

General Comments:

What a fantastic engine! No wonder it's made Ward's Top Ten so many times. I love accelerating from a stop, spinning the tires and pulling away from "the pack"!

Highway cruising at 80+ MPH is smooth and quiet.

Excellent service received from dealer. All scheduled appointments come with free rental vehicle of current model year I30/I35. (Clever marketing ploy).

Plenty of room for a man of my size (let's just say Big & Tall)

Lots of rear seat room, comfy seats, excellent fit and finish.

Would definitely buy another one. Buy used, though, since the depreciation when new is un-justifiably higher than say a Lexus.

1997 Infiniti I30 I 3.0 from North America

Summary:

Great car for the money. Better than Maximas, but it's no GS300

Faults:

There have been occasional squeaking noises coming from the dashboard.

Recently, I also noticed that the panel which goes over the rear window from outside of the car was loose. I guess from the sun, it had expanded and had gotten dry. It was making this annoying noise that you could not help but notice. So I decided to put a little piece of sponge under it. Fortunatly, that helped.

General Comments:

Loses its smooth ride after 60,000 miles.

1997 Infiniti I30 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

The cheapest but most elegant car on the market

Faults:

The air conditioner takes a while to make the car cool. One of my headlights is starting to obtain water vapor.

General Comments:

This car is very quick and has won many street races.

The 200 watt system makes you fall in love with the car.

The car comes with everything basically standard, so there aren't any hidden costs.

1997 Infiniti I30 3.0 from North America

General Comments:

This car has done great.

Throttle response is good!

Very quiet. Changed transmission fluid. Changed oil to Mobil1 Synthetic 10w-30w.

The car corners like a sports car.

I am thinking of putting the touring spoiler on the rear (3rd brakelight).
