I bought this J30 through an Auto Auction. When I bought it the driver's side window would not go up, it was broke. The front door panels were scraped bad and the material had to be replaced on the door panels. The sunroof does stick at times. It did not start for me once, as I forgot that it is fuel injected and pumped the gas pedal which flooded the engine.
My husband who is a jet mechanic was able to replace the broke electronic window motor. A friend of his who does internal jet work replaced those ugly door panels with REAL leather. We noticed the timing belt was replaced at 80,000 miles. I just bought replacement windshield wiper blades. I hate my current wheels and absolutely need to replace them. I also only use Premium Unleaded Fuel, it seems to run smoother with it.
I know absolutely nothing about Infiniti and can't wait to find out more about my particular model. This car has such power and is totally luxurious with the heated leather seats, sunroof, Bose radio system. Power everything, I just LOVE this car. I know that brand new they are a very expensive car. My insurance company classifies this car as a "luxury car", I never thought I would own one. I did look at used BMW's before buying my J30, no regrets so far!
I love the car and got it for a good price, but when I turn the engine off, the car turns off, but all the warning lights stay on like it if was with the key in even when I take the key out many mechanincs have looked at the problem and can't cuome up with an explenation, if any one has the answer to this problem please tell me ehat it is, I can't afford to spend to much money in it, I think is the ignition starter. any comments in what it could be e-mail me at mmorales@offixsystems.com
thank you.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the car. It all has to do with the position of the key. The ignition has 3 positions. x, y, z is what we'll call them. When you turn the key to the z position, the engine is started, and the key falls back to the y position. At this point, all the equipment in the car should be working. Turn your key back to the x position, and the engine cuts off, as well as some of the power equipment and probably the radio. If you turn the key back to the y position again, but without starting the engine, your power equipment and radio should come back on.
