1999 Isuzu Frontier 280 TD LX 2.8 turbo diesel from South Africa


Reliable and spacious, and a good tow vehicle for its age


Broken water pump at 220 000km, which resulted in the engine overheating. Fitted new pistons and bearings.

Shock absorbers replaced at 291 000km.

Front wheel bearings replaced twice.

Propshaft balanced at 254 000km.

Replaced spare wheel bracket and rear bumper. The original unit had a poorly designed fixing point.

The vehicle was serviced by myself with all filters and oil at 5 000km intervals.

General Comments:

The best buy at the time. Low running cost. I am the second owner and enjoyed the last 12 years of ownership.
