2001 Isuzu Trooper LX review from North America
"Best vehicle I have ever owned, and will buy another or rebuild this one after a few 100,000 miles"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The transmission overdrive loosened after 195,000 miles, which cause a "piston" in the transmission to need replacing. Fixed and working beautifully. No other problems other than routine maintenance until 204,000 miles, when it began to have fuel surge problems. Mechanic working on that now.
Interior has held up very well. Just broke a spring in the driver's seat around 200,000 miles. No squeaks, no rattles, and the upholstery is in great condition.
General comments?
This vehicle doesn't have power like most SUVs, however I often pull my 4-wheeler trailer to the mountains and it does fine.
