"Get a 1982 CJ-7 if you don't own one."

Given that most people do not own a 1982 CJ-7, and that there just aren't that many still around. I think that if everybody took your advice, demand would far exceed supply.

I would say that (with very few exceptions) the AMC designed Jeeps tend to be far more reliable (and in my opinion superior) to the Chrysler designed models.

1982 Jeep CJ7 Renegade 258 6 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Lots of fun for not much money

Faults:

The Jeep is perfect, I love it.

The leaf and drag link were replaced due to curb hitting.

The Jeep came with no roof, I just bought one.

The seats are ripped due to wear.

There is minor rust in some places.

A front fender was replaced when I hit a tree.

General Comments:

CJ Jeeps are the best vehicles to own.

I have owned lots of cars and this one is the only one I kept for more than 1 year. There is no substitute for a vehicle with no doors or roof.

Also the ability to go anywhere of road is a lot of fun. I have proved it many times, taking my stock CJ7 everywhere.

Buy yourself a Jeep.

Where and how can I aquire a pretty good mid 80's cj7 for about 4 to 5 thousand dollars. I want to be able to drive something that on a sunny day you can take the top and doors off. Plus chicks dig nice jeeps. And I also play baseball nine months out of the year and want something cool to drive to the games. So please anyone with any insight please help.

I have a 1982 Renegade CJ7. All stock but some stuff is rebuilt on the motor. Restoring it to brand new, it's in near perfect condition now though. Just fixing rust places, carburetor, things like that. Needs a new paint job done eventually.

Anybody that has a junk Renegade CJ7 close to an '82 for parts, PLEASE email me at auto_dude82cj7@yahoo.com
