The car is driven under normal conditions, I have two small children and driving HARD as you say is not an option. I know 3 other individuals who have KIA vehicles and two of them swear by it, the other individual is quite content with his base RIO. Maybe KIA can make a good car, but I got the one they made on Friday, and because of this I will never buy a KIA again.

I hate to burst your bubbles for all the haters of this car, but I have had this car for a few years now (bought it new) and the only problem I had was getting the bearings redone, which was under warranty. It now has over 60,000 miles on it, and still gives me no issues. Driving hard is a condition I only drive in. I have had the car over a 100 mph quite often, and in one case, made it to 120. The car handles great for the class it is in, and is quick (I have the 5 speed trans). I drove the car in Buffalo, where I used to live, and the temperature dropped under 0 degrees several times, and never had a problem. It passed EVERY New York State inspection, without a problem. They probably had the most strict of car inspections anywhere, even north of the boarder. I've driven it in higher temperatures, driven to North Carolina and back, and it NEVER once gave me a problem. I myself weigh about 200 pounds, and my car seat is fine. It's good on gas, not as good as others probably who have the car, but again, I drive very aggressively. All in all, I am far more than satisfied with the car, and in fact, am rather disappointed that they no longer produce the car to the GSX line. It will be sadly missed.

I loved my 2001 Kia Spectra GSX until was rear ended in January. The driver's seat broke and I was thrown backwards.

The car was totaled. I have lots of back pain and surgery to look forward to.

Did he say he got his KIA to 120 MPH?? I bet he he was going 19 MPH and the needle of the speedometer was in front of the "20" making it look like "120". There is no way a KIA would hold together at that speed!! I bet after he got it to "120" it spent 2 months in the shop! That is a bogus review!! Mine wouldn't even make it to 80 without the transmission falling apart, a headlight exploding, and the power brake booster squirting all over the place!
