2001 Lincoln Continental review from North America
"I hope they restart the Continental line again some year; I'll buy another"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The ride control went out, but I believe it was from a shop not disengaging the switch in the trunk before lifting the car, but I can't prove it.
Replaced inner tie rods at 105,000 miles and also needed a new gas tank filler tube at the same mileage. It was expensive because they had to drop the gas tank to find the problem.
General comments?
I have been very pleased with this vehicle. The ride and comfort have been great.
Overall cost to operate was a bit high due to 92 Octane (high test) gasoline needed, particularly when gas prices were $4.00 per gallon for Super.
The expensive repairs recently are really the only costs I have had, and considering I bought the car for half the new price, I believe the car has been a great investment. Granted, investments hopefully grow and cars depreciate, but my previous vehicle was a "Big" money pit.
