1981 Lotus Esprit S2.2 2.2 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

An affordable exotic

Faults:

Vacuum leak on the brake booster.

General Comments:

I have never driven a car that handles so well. The styling is magnificent - I love the way it looks. Everywhere I go people look at the car, and many people are surprised that it is over 25 years old!

But the sheer enjoyment of driving it is by far the greatest pleasure. Not only does it handle well, but it handles easily; I can corner at speeds two and three times the limit recommended on the sign with no problems at all.

The seats are a little uncomfortable on long trips, and there is no other adjustment than fore and aft, and there is quite a bit of wind noise over 120 km/h.

All-in-all, I am very pleased that I bought this car; if nothing else than for the fact that it makes me smile every time I open the garage door and see it...

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

It is a stunning car, just watching a white one right now in the James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only" 1981. I want that car as much as I did when I was a kid and first saw the movie.
