1998 Maruti Zen MH410 from India

Summary:

Nice and fun car to drive

General Comments:

Overall a good performing and comfortable car, especially in crowded cities with stop-go traffic.

A good thing is that it doesn't roll back at all, unlike the MT.

Not very expensive to maintain.

Can be parked in smaller spaces.

1998 Maruti Zen VX petrol from India

Summary:

The best engine performance, body looks, A/C, reliability, and fuel efficiency

Faults:

Nothing so far, it's good.

General Comments:

I have a cute looking Maruti Zen VX 98 model car.

I can say proudly that it's India's best reliable, fuel efficient and evergreen car to date, made by India's top automobile company, Maruti Suzuki.

The specialties of the Zen car are its engine performance, its outer body looks, its A/C cooling, and the luxury comfort feel one can get while driving or sitting in this small, reliable wonder car.

I can say it's far better than the Alto or any other car in today's segment. Japanese technology - hats off to them.

It gives me great pleasure to drive this small, cute beauty on the roads.

I have maintained my Zen car like that. So if you maintain your car properly, I don't think anybody will have many problems.

I love my Zen VX very much… and shall keep on loving it forever.

So if you people out there are planning to buy a good, reliable car, then I would suggest you go for a good, well maintained Zen car..

1997 Maruti Zen GL 1.0 from Israel

Summary:

If you don't have enough money this car is for you

Faults:

2 things happened: suddenly with out any announcement, the alternator stoped working and also the switch system. It was hard to find parts for this car.

General Comments:

Very economical car. It's great for students who want to have a car and not bankrupt. on the other hand, it's not safe at all. I mean that in an accident, I'm not sure that it can protect you.

1997 Maruti Zen from India

Summary:

Very economical

Faults:

Tyres needed replacing.

General Comments:

A very good and reliable car. It's not very sporty stuff, it's a family car. A design that never gets old.

I agree with you it's a family sedan, but ZEN engine is far superior than most of its counterparts in India. Its engine is compared to flight engine you can easily see it from the pickup and acceleration.

I agree, ZEN is best among others of its class.

We are not able to decide whether to buy a Indica Diesel or a Maruti Zen Diesel... can any one help us out in deciding which one will be a better option to run for next 3-4 years.

Ashish.

Dude Ashish, why do you wanna go for a diesel car, they kind of suck (I mean they lose their pick up and performance) as you start adding miles. Better go for a petrol car and I suggest you go for a Maruti make. My parents in India bought zen couple years back and never had any problems with it, I drove it when I was in India and had real good experience with the car.

I think that this car is the best that one can get for so little money. It's cheap to buy and also cheap to maintain.
