2008 Mazda B4000 4x4 SE V6 from North America

Summary:

Cheap build, lousy customer service

Faults:

I have only had the truck for 1 month, 1000km.

Serpentine belt had to be replaced.

Rear brake drum had to be adjusted.

Passenger side mud flap fell off. Warranty wouldn't cover it; they want $100 to replace it.

Plastic clips on interior had to be pushed back in.

General Comments:

I like the size and style of the truck; it is a good pickup and 4x4.

However, the overall build seems cheap to me. It has had a few problems already, and its still new. The mudflaps are plastic and fragile. The console seems cheap; I wouldn't want to lean much weight upon it. Front bumper around the 2 edges/corners doesn't look flush, and may be easy to hang up on something. Gas guzzler.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Think that's bad, Try wrecking it, my cousin has an '06 model, side swiped a guardrail and tore the entire left side up @ 25 MPH!!! Put a hole in the panel behind the door!! Cheap metal. Insurance company had it fixed @ a Mazda dealer, you can tell it was wrecked. Front end isn't flush like you mentioned, looked like crap before the accident, but looks worse now!!

Should have bought a F-150. Much stronger build. PS. Mazda is a Ford Ranger. Ford owns Mazda.

I have a 2008 Mazda B4000 SE, 5spd manual, 4x4, gas mileage is bad in the city (to be expected it's a pickup) 'hwy mileage runs 23-28mpg (great), overall impression is great, especially the 4x4 system!

If you have brake drums, you do not have the SE 4x4.
