1968 Meson Avant PSV-002 2.5L 6 cylinder from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Very rare interesting piece of Britain

Faults:

Mainly build problems. Car is a Kit car based on a TR6 chassis, TR6 running gear with O/D gearbox. Mainly spent time tinkering and improving.

General Comments:

Very powerful and lots of fun. It's a rare car here in the UK and was never exported. A local man built it in 1968 from a damaged TR6.

Fibre glass body makes for interesting motoring, especially for that silky Triumph engine. Gives a great power to weight ratio. I have never seen another one in the UK.

1973 Meson Avant ASV 2.5L from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Weird rare 60's fun. Creates quite a stir!!

Faults:

This is a rare kit car built in Britain from 1967. I found it at a house clearance in 1978 and have owned it ever since. It is built on a Triumph TR6 chassis and running gear with a one off Glassfiber body. Have had few problems other than updating and improving on the original design. Removed the Lucas fuel injection system after a whole host of problems and replaced with carbs.

As far as I know, there were only about 24 of these built. I think mine is one of only four left in the world.

General Comments:

Great fun car for summer use only. Great fun to drive and very fast due to weight reduction with the body being made of glassfibre.

It doesn't have any boot space, or a hood. This is a true sports car!!

Gets a lot of attention; it upsets and also intrigues Triumph enthusiasts.

Not recommended for long journeys!
