1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT vr4 Twin turbo from North America

Summary:

High performance car that is a bargain

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Great Car, handles very well, does well in the snow. Back seats are very small.

Gear shift takes a while to get use to.

Third and fifth gear are very close together.

1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 3.0L Twin turbo (320 Horsepowe from North America

Summary:

A high performance must for people with limited cash

Faults:

I have had nothing go wrong with this car since I have had it.

General Comments:

This is a beautiful car that people stare at when you pass them. The acceleration is amazing and the handling is even better. This car will go zero to sixty in under five seconds. This car is all-wheel-drive and features an all-wheel-steering system. The cabin is very nice with an optional ten disc disc changer. The air-conditioning is the best I have ever seen. The back seat is really tight and not suitable for adults. This is the best car I have ever owned. It only cost me $17,000.

Hi. I am very interested in the 3000gt, but am confused as to which model had the flap headlights (I really don't like the way the other kinds look.) Could you please tell me if yours is it? Thank you.

The 1991-93 models had retractable, or "flap" headlights. Also, I believe they made 20 less horsepower in the VR-4 models and had a 5-speed transmission, whereas the 1994 and up models had a 6-speed.

1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT Twin Turbo 3.0 turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Fast, attractive, makes a statement... I CAN!

Faults:

The active aero seems to be a problem on these cars; it seems to stick! It doesn't affect the car except in gimmick value!

The annoying thing is that it can be fixed by cleaning up the moving parts yourself in a few hours, or take it to UK dealers and they will try and stitch you up for a thousand quid!

Also, the gearbox is a bit notchy and needs some gentle care. This again seems a common fault with this motor.

General Comments:

Looks like a super-model, fast as fury, what else can I say...

This car is a must-have. It has a few niggles, but overall you just can't live without it! It's so good that I've made a web site for mine (www.3000GT.co.uk).

It's a shame the UK dealers didn't take a bit more pride in this motor, and not just try to rip the customer off for all they can!
