2010 Mitsubishi ASX S13 2.0 petrol from Russia

Summary:

Very nice for the price

Faults:

There was transmission error. It turned out that rats bit some wiring. Dealer fixed it in a couple of days.

General Comments:

Nimble and smart compact SUV. Handles great, rides just fine on tarmac. Not the fastest ride, but has got above average acceleration.

Quite spacious forward and back. Looks sharp, I like it.

Dependable and stable on light offroad (sandy beach, snow, some mud ruts) - just don't forget to turn off the ESP and lock the 4WD for maximum traction. Use common sense, and this little baby will carry you far.

10L per 100 km in the city.

Perfect choice for a family with 1-2 children.

To be able to compare my experience of the car with yours, could you possibly define yourself as a driver? You seem to be very pleased with the handling, while I find it poor. I would put myself at the "a bit too fast and aggressive" end of the scale, where would you put yourself? I don't want to argue with your impression, or contradict your opinion, I'd just like to be able to make a better comparison of our different experiences.

2011 Mitsubishi ASX 1.8 turbo diesel from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A comfortable, refined, small but spacious 4wd, with every conceivable extra

Faults:

Nothing yet.

General Comments:

Very spacious and comfortable car in the front and the back. Good sized boot and load area.

Quiet and refined on the motorway and around town.

Very little body roll for a tall car. Excellent, slightly elevated driving position.

Good steering, excellent brakes.

Started with a 400 mile motorway journey, followed by normal roads, then lots of twisty narrow roads on the Hebrides and Scottish highlands. The ASX handled it all.

The 4wd got us out of trouble once with the driver's side wheels on tarmac and passenger side wheels in deep mud. In another incident, the traction control cut in and saved us from a slide in a heavy rainstorm, which had turned the road into a river.

10 miles per litre economy on the above trip.

Very well equipped, with every conceivable gizmo.

Rather poor backward and side view, but excellent rear camera.

Not as quick as my old Merc away from the lights, but plenty of mid range torque and acceleration. Very willing engine. Cruises quietly at 80. Speedo under reads by about 5mph over 70.

Keyless doors and ignition takes some getting used to.

Awesome Kenwood tuner / iPod / CD / DVD / Garmin sat nav / Bluetooth mobile phone interface, fantastic.
