"Reliable, fast and economical - perfect!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing major so far; the car has been reliable during the 6,000 miles I have put on it. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way.

General comments?

I had originally looked for a V6 due to the style and beautiful lines of the car, but had so much trouble trying to find a good condition manual that I gave the 4 cylinder a shot. I took my time in finding the right one, a very well kept one owner GS manual, and am now glad that I looked at the 4 cylinder, because the car is just great.

It handles and performs very well, especially with an AEM cold air intake installed; it sounds and performs like a bigger engined vehicle, yet the fuel economy is still good.

The silver paint is amazing and always turns a head.

My only complaint is the wind noise with the roof fully opened, but not that big of a deal.

Overall I am very satisfied with the car; it looks amazing, is reliable, quick and gets great fuel economy. I think I will keep this car for a while before looking at anything else, although the new shape Eclipse is starting to grow on me, so maybe?

I now have 73,000 miles on the car and have not had a single problem. Some slight rattles from the dash are annoying, and long drives are tiresome due to road noise etc. but it is a sports vehicle after all. Road holding is exceptional, and am averaging 30+ mpg with regular gas on highway driving is not too bad either, the V6 needs higher octane gas which was one of the reasons why I settled on the 4 cylinder. Overall the car is pretty reliable, and I'm not sure if I want to keep it for a few more years or get something a little bigger for the comfort and smoothness factor.

I had just bought a 2002 Eclipse GS 4 cyl model! I can tell you, I am really happy with my car. The style is SO COOL! My car is automatic with the auto stick feature, which I think is so cool! My wife last night noticed someone looking at us (turning heads), while we were stopped at a light! WOW, I never got that with my 96 Maxima!

Just today I filled up the gas tank, took about 13 gallons. I'm yet to find out the MPG! Seems really good so far! On the last poster, "Do you really get 30 mpg?" Nice, I can really use a gas saving car!

As of now, the only problem I see on my car is wheel bearing noise. My car has 75k miles. Other than that, like most of you say, this car is only great for 1 or 2 people, and children for the back seat is fine. It is harder to get in & out of car. Seems like when I get in, I feel as if I'M FALLING into the car (seats are low). It does have a rough ride. I noticed space on front seats is really cramped as compared to my 96 Max.
