2012 Mitsubishi Galant SE 2.4L from North America

Summary:

Great car!

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Have had my Galant for 3 years and have just gone over 60,000 miles, and it has been a great car with no problems whatsoever thus far. I have an SE model, which is completely loaded. It had an MSRP of $28K, but this was the last model year for the Galant, and Mitsubishi was offering aggressive rebates, so I was able to drive it off the lot brand new for $21K and some change. So I got a car with leather, nav, back up camera, and a moonroof for the same price as a stripped Accord/Camry/Altima.

The good:

Reliability has been great. Right up there with the more popular Japanese brands. Came with a 10-yr/100K mile warranty. Despite the fact this is a 3,600 lb car with just 160 HP, the engine moves it well enough. The car has a ton of features that work well. The dealer network has been great. I also love the looks of the car and like the fact that it's something different, not just another Camry or Accord.

The "not as good":

The 2.4L 4-cylinder engine is a little noisy, but not unbearably so. Gas mileage is a little disappointing for this class. I average about 25 MPG in mixed city/highway driving; there are some V-6 models out there that do better than that. And, while I like the interior design, it's a little outdated for a 2012 model car. This generation Galant debuted in 2004, and it looks like a 2004 car inside.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my Galant. These would make great used cars for anyone in the market for one.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Do you still have the Galant? Would like to find out how it's doing getting close to the 100K range.

Thanks!
