2005 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ-Rally 2.0L 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Excellent purchase, practical and reliable, yet cute and sporty

Faults:

So far, nothing has gone wrong with the car, and I really don't drive like a grandmother.

General Comments:

Pretty good acceleration, considering it's only 120HP, but it's definitely struggling if I've got 4 other people in the car and I'm going up an incline.

It is a bit light, maybe this is why it's so zippy, but it does make it a little tedious if you're driving on the highway on a windy day.

I also find it skids fairly easily in winter conditions, this might be due to its weight as I find it grips the road a bit easier if I keep a couple sandbags in the trunk during winter. Also, this model doesn't come with traction control or even anti-lock braking. Winter tires are definitely recommended.

Really good turning radius, a definite improvement on earlier models. Excellent handling overall actually, although it does tend to shimmy at speeds over 140km/hr.

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX 1.3 from Egypt

Summary:

Very comfortable, good handling sedan car

Faults:

-one of the horns gone bad, replaced at the dealer free of charge.

General Comments:

This one of the best cars I owned, although the car looks small from outside, but it's very big from inside, a lot of room in front and in the back, the handling is great, stability is very good, the engine is a bit weak for this car, I would recommend the 1.6 engine, otherwise it's a great looking family car suitable for all purposes, very comfortable at long drives too (over 10 hours) I would certainly recommend this car to anyone, specially in Egypt.

I have A GLX 2005 model and I hate my car so much. Engine is very weak, consuming petrol too much! And the service here in Dubai, UAE is terrible. Even the service adviser don't know how to explain to customers the repair, service done on their car. Even customer service is very poor. They don't use sit covers, fender covers, nor paper floor mats when your car is under repair. So what happen? All of their dirt, sweat and unpleased odor from the technician stick to the interior of your car. And after the repair, guess what will they do? They will release your car very dirty and smelly!!! And their comment, TAKE NOTE!!! That's all they can do!!!

The current Lancer is just a horrible car -- cheap nasty interior and a rough engine that consumes petrol as if it were in a drinking party and I'm not going to mention its handling and stability... I just drove the 1.6 Auto version yesterday and I came away understanding full well why the Lancer is the most crashed car in Egypt... the only good thing about it was the CVT transmission which was smooth; other than that it was bloody awful.

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart from North America

Summary:

Reliable, fun to drive..3 stars out of 4

Faults:

Door Handles Rattle.

General Comments:

Gas Pedal and Brake too close, causes you to brake and accelerate at the same time.

Not a very quite car inside, can hear road underneath you.

Car handles very well on dry roads, has good gitty up for a small engine.

However when it is snowy the car slides very easily because it is so light.

The gas mileage is usually around 24-26 mpg on highway and in city.

Very easy to maneuver in city because it is very easy to see out back and front of car.

Seats are very formed and feel very good on back.

However if you don't fit in the seat (you are to wide, car has good head room considering how small it is) the seat can be uncomfortable.

Back seat is big enough to have a 6 ft person in drivers seat and 6 ft person in back of driver.

Ample trunk space with fold down back seats a plus!

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition 2.0 gasoline from North America

Summary:

My family had 3 Lancers and they are awesome and economical cars with a spice of sportiness

Faults:

I had no problems with this car yet.

But our previous car which is a '96 Lancer Gli had a radiator leak at about 120,000 km and we had to replace the fan thermostat at 122,000 km.

General Comments:

The car is very reliable and very economical.

You can barely here the engine running at idle.

It is also sporty and it has good handling.

It boasts a stock, but brilliant six speaker system

The interior is all black with leather and looks really good.
