1991 Nissan 100NX 2.0 liter from North America

Summary:

A cheap as dirt, Head turner

Faults:

The rear deck gasket doesn't seal properly, causing exhaust to be sucked into the car.

The t-tops leak.

Center console hinge broken.

Something is wrong with the starter or wiring to/from the starter. The car only starts when it feels like it.

Seats show wear and tear easily.

General Comments:

Quick little car when it feels like it.

People never know what it is.

Head-turner, pretty little car.

Not all seats should be occupied by passengers, definitely not the rear drivers side.

1991 Nissan 100NX 1.6 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A good looking, well built, sports (doesn't scare your pants off) coupe

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with it yet, but I have not had it long enough for anything to go wrong.

There is some wear on the upholstery. Not surprising for a car that's 11 years old.

The body work needs a little attention around the wheel arches. Not a big problem.

General Comments:

I bought the car for the wife to replace her worn out Fiat Uno. She hasn't been able to drive it yet as I am having too much fun with it.

I had a Renault Laguna which I sold and bought a motorbike. The 100NX is now tempting me back onto four wheels.

It's not fast, but it is great fun to drive and hugs the road like a sports car should.

Extremely comfortable with a good driving position.

It is the first 100NX model that Nissan brought out and does not have a targa top. Living in the Lake District where it rains on every day with a Y in it, this is not really missed.

Having only done 1,500 miles in it over three weeks, it is a little early to spot any problems.

Go and buy one. Have some FUN!

1991 Nissan 100NX GTi 2.0 from Netherlands

Summary:

It is a fast reliable car crossed with a cabrio

Faults:

The windows are noisy while half up.

When the targa roof is removed it's very noisy on the highway.

General Comments:

For a 1991 this car had all the new electrical things in it, mirrors, dimmer, headlight angle adjustable, electrical windows and central door-locking.

When you drive with your roof removed, you'll forget all the things that have gone wrong with this car!

1991 Nissan 100NX 1.6 16v from Denmark

Summary:

Greatest coupe that money can buy...

Faults:

Alternator worn out at 200.000km.

Starter-engine worn out at 200.000km.

Electronic carburator and lambda sonde changed at 200.000km due to too much pollution.

General Comments:

I must say that I am very impressed with this car. All though it has driven more than 200.000km it still drives like a new car. It is very reliable. Except for the electronic carburator steering, and lambda sonde, it hasn't been necessary to fix anything, apart from normal maintenance (parts, tires etc).

The passenger seats in the back are very small, but not smaller than what you can expect from a 2+2 coupe.

The driver's seat is very comfortable, and the cabin feels and looks great.

Actually the whole car looks great, and I love the Targa roof on hot summer days.

The car is not very fast, but not too slow either. Some might prefer more than the 90HP, but for me it's okay. What I like the most about the cars performance, is that it corners like it's on rails. The handling is nothing less than superb.

All in all this car has my recommendation.

1991 Nissan 100NX 1.6 from Netherlands

Summary:

Reliable car that has a unique design!

Faults:

Nothing really went wrong with this car.

It has a good service history. Maintenance is done every 10.000 kilometers (tires, oil, brakes etc.).

The only weak point is the recycle lever that is not functioning.

General Comments:

Good value for money. It is reliable and the T-bar roof is great in the summer!

Please note that if you drive 'open' on the highway it is very noisy!

By the way: the car looks faster than it actually is.

If you want performance go for the 2.0 version.
