2006 Nissan Altima S 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Excellent car

Faults:

I love my Altima. I've owned it for a year and a half, and nothing wrong with it so far.

I replaced air filter.

The only issue I have is the interior cloth material on door panels and seats, which are hard to keep clean and look faded.

2006 Nissan Altima S Conversion from North America

Summary:

Glad it's gone

Faults:

For those of you who are flooring this car, you are paying out your *ss in gas. I know this for a fact. She drank so much gas that I couldn't afford to drive it, and this was when gas was relatively cheap.

She was also slow as Christmas. Traffic would zip by me.

The engine was too loud. For how little gas mileage it got, it left me thinking, 'Why all the noise? You're not doing anything.'

Other things started happening before I got rid of her. The left front light shifted upwards. Nissan said they couldn't fix it.

The rubber on the driver door kept popping out when I would let the window up or down. Quite annoying. I took it to Nissan and they said they fixed it. It continued to pop out over and over again, so I gave up having it fixed.

General Comments:

I'm not going to take anything from it. She was a very pretty car. However, her performance and the basic cost of just driving her made me want a Maxima that much more. At least then you can drive fast.

2006 Nissan Altima SE 3.5 from North America

Summary:

Fast!

Faults:

Nothing right now, but the idle is very fast.

General Comments:

It's a very fast little car. I got about 0-100 kph in like mid 5's. Its very roomy too. But the suspension is very stiff compared to my past cars, and there is a lot of plastic. But overall I love this car.

2006 Nissan Altima S 2.5 from North America

Summary:

A few hiccups can be expected, but no problem

Faults:

After owning the car for 5 months, the rear passenger tire blew out. A tow truck took me to a tire shop in a small town. It was there I learned that the date in the serial number showed the tires to be 4 years old. But only the tires on the passenger side of my car were 4 years old. I bought 2 new tires and took the old tires to the dealer, where they apologized and reimbursed me.

Over the last three years, the driver-side brake light went out and the power steering failed. Both were repaired and covered by the warranty.

General Comments:

It's a good car to drive. Has decent legroom in the back and has worked well. The only problems I encountered with the car had not cost to me, other than inconvenience. Overall, a pretty good experience for my first new car.

Not really a comment on the car, but Nissan Financial Services are pretty bad. If you want to have a good ownership experience, I would recommend not using them. Finance the car some other way.

Why the unhappy face then?

Tires happen to blow on any car, and brake light bulbs or fuses are normal maintenance. I don't see the reason for the unhappy face either.

2006 Nissan Altima 3.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

Quick

Faults:

Nothing, all standard maintenance stuff (brakes, oil).

General Comments:

This car accelerates VERY fast, and it is deceiving how fast you are moving.

When I had to slow down to 40 kph in a school zone, I felt like the engine was doing NOTHING. This engine wants to go fast!

2006 Nissan Altima Special Edition 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Yet another solid car by Nissan

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with this car.

Changed tires from normal wear, but that was it.

General Comments:

My wife had a couple of knee surgeries, and we had to shelve our hiking days for a while. With this I traded in my 2001 Pathfinder with over 150,000 miles on it that was still running beautifully for the Altima.

Ever since it rolled out of the show room with 6 miles on it, it has not been back to the dealer once. This car runs like a dream and has never left me anywhere.

The brakes still have good amount of meat left on them after 56,000 miles, and the engine just keeps humming along. It has some pep to it, and gets me about 35 miles per gallon on the highway.

I had also had a 1995 Pathfinder with over 300,000 miles on it we used for hiking. I took that truck through everything and it kept going. It finally was falling apart about a 2 years ago, so I sold it for 1,500 bucks. It's still on the road today.

I am a true Nissan customer, and until I find a bad car they make, will be for life.
