1998 Nissan Hardbody Pickup D21 2.4 petrol from Chile

Summary:

A great auto! Versatile. I may never go back to driving a car again!

Faults:

The truck has been excellent from the time I bought it. I use it some very rough road without problems. Broken parts: One leaf spring, rear. Servicing: recharge of air-con and replacement of loose bolts.

General Comments:

My previous car was an MX6 which would 'fly' past anything, pronto, so there is no comparison. With a truck, you want something that will get you past the lumber trucks and slow buses around here- this does that very well. It is also very good off road and has tremendous pulling power (torque) to get you up them steep inclines. I have done long distances in it (1000 miles round trip) and it has been very comfortable, even relaxing to drive. The seats are superb. The load capacity is excellent. The engine is quiet and the ride is a good compromise between smooth tarmac and unmade road driving- on a good road it drives like a car: steady and fast. On the rough stuff it does bounce a lot!

I can get 5/6 people in the (double) cab: The other day we went to our local national park and she carried 11 people up the steepest track (some in the back). This was because our friend's car was having trouble on the mountain tracks.

It's also great to pull into your local lumber yard and load up the back with planks etc. My greatest @commercial' moment was when I took delivery of a pallette load of stuff at my local road depot: The fork lift just popped this huge palette onto the back of the D21 and we drove off like we were in a movie.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
