1983 Nissan Maxima 810 Deluxe 2.8 diesel ld28 from North America

Summary:

One and only. There is no comparison

Faults:

The alternator was replaced at 165,000 miles.

Routine maintenance before any problems (preventive), mechanically it is original.

General Comments:

I have never seen a car as reliable as the Nissan Maxima diesel. It has traveled the entire United States and Canada in two and a half years. It started at about 160,000 miles. Never have to think twice about going on a road trip. Everyone has something to say about my car. This car will outlive me.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I had two 83 Maxima diesel wagons. One went to 330,000 miles and the other to 313,000.

Only repairs on the 330,000 were the normal brakes, alternator, injector belt, it had the original shocks, struts, and some body work, would have went longer but was in a wreck.

The other had original engine and transmission, but struts replaced and all the other regular stuff, it also was in a wreck.

Wish I had one again.

I have had over 10 of these cars, and all I can say they are bulletproof; they run and run. Mine has 369,000 miles and runs better then it did at 200k. Normal maintenance has been done, mechanically original power train, and did I mention I tow cars all the time twice its size.

Best car I've ever owned and ever seen...
