1992 Nissan Pathfinder XE 3.0 from North America

Summary:

Build it again!

Faults:

Powers steering pump changed.

Stock muffler changed; it was so clogged, small pieces of coal would come out of it.

Driver's seat a bit worn out.

Some minor electrical issues like brake lights and emergency lights.

General Comments:

Very reliable vehicle.

Gives good MPG.

I take it off roading, not that deep into mud, for fishing.

It's got a good driver's point of view for blind spots.

It's a bit underpowered, but suffices for its purpose.

I still have this vehicle, and I doubt I'll be getting rid of it anytime soon.

A/C and heater work great, and I'm fond of the simplicity of the dashboard and gauges.

85% of the interior is still in semi new condition. The other 15% is just normal wear and tear.

I love the exhaust sound it gives off as it's shifting gears; it's not loud, but it's still sounding strong and firm.

No rust, and a solid frame and body.

1992 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

A Toyota style buy back would be a great idea with this one

Faults:

DO NOT BUY.

Frame is completely rusted through and is not safe to drive.

Now I have a car I can't drive, it could break in half literally. It's junk.

General Comments:

Other than rusted frame; a reliable, solid feeling truck.

It runs drives and shifts like a new car, but cheap steel means a rusty mess and an unsafe truck.

This is a shame, because I am in love with the look and feel of it, and I can't drive it.

The seats are a little uncomfortable after a while.

1992 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 3.0 V6 from North America

Faults:

- Had to replace fuel pump

- Center console broke

- Think it may have an oil leak now :(

- Rust in the rockers and under rear seats seems to be expanding exponentially (which I would attribute to the wonderful PA winter roads)

- Power steering leak

- Brakes squeak

- Inaccurate speedometer/odometer

- Rear lift gate struts failed

General Comments:

It's an excellent running vehicle, and fairly reliable. I haven't had a problem since getting the fuel pump replaced several months ago.

Has an undeniably large turning radius, but really seems to be a bit underpowered as SUVs go, but it seems to be on par with an Explorer of the same year. Haven't really been able to get an accurate mpg calculation because of an overly optimistic speedometer (claims speeds 10-14mph faster than reality).

Would consider buying another one.

1992 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 3.0 V6 from North America

Summary:

The best out there

Faults:

The Pathy has been Verry Reliable, Only had a Few Problems with Electricle Issues. Power Windows, Windo Wipers, that's about it.

General Comments:

It rides nice, has enough power for me, more than most other SUV's in 1992.

1992 Nissan Pathfinder SE 3 Liter from North America

Summary:

Best Car money I Ever Spent

Faults:

I bought this car new. I have had no problems for 137,500 miles. I have replaced the brakes once and the tires several times. I have all the recommended maintinance done. The car runs perfect. I still have the original clutch and I am finally going to replace the shocks. THIS IS THE BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I know it's dull looking and a little underpowered, but it just keeps going. I will keep it until it dies or I do.

General Comments:

This is my third Nissan I am hooked on Nissan

1992 Nissan Pathfinder LX 2WD 4.0L V6 from North America

Summary:

Very, very dependable

Faults:

Transmission was replaced under warranty by previous owner at 60,000 miles.

Left exhaust manifold gasket replaced at about 120,000 miles.

Brake master cylinder was replaced at about 150,000 miles.

Water pump was replaced at about 160,000 miles.

Oil pump was replaced at about 203,000 miles.

General Comments:

Very reliable vehicle. Has never failed to start.

Air Conditioning has never been worked on and we are at 205,000 miles with the coldest AC.

Does not use oil.

Comfortable drive. A bit wobbly side to side like a truck when we drive on the interstate highways.

Interior has held up excellently.

Exterior has held up very well for a vehicle that is not kept in a garage.
