1990 Nissan Pintara Ti KA24E from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A bargain that has it all

Faults:

Engine wear after so many k's so starting to burn minimal oil.

Fuel injectors need cleaning, I was using about as much as a 5.0L V8 before I had my injectors cleaned. Goes like a charm now.

General Comments:

This car was a bargain and is the best first car.

All the extras, climate control, cruise control, power everything.

The overall pickup of this car is awesome, especially considering it is only a 4 cylinder.

The most comfortable car around.

I have a 1990 ti hatch and it is a great car for comfort and semi luxury too. Problems with electric windows is my only real complaint.

1990 Nissan Pintara Gli 2.0L from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

The best thing on 4 wheels

Faults:

Only a few errors in this car like the water pump needed replacement after 10 years. The timing belt blew which stuffed it.

General Comments:

This car has awesome power and does the greatest burn-outs, and has been thrashed and still goes like a rocket whenever gotten into.

1990 Nissan Pintara GLi 2.0L 4 cylinder from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

An economical and reliable runabout

Faults:

Differential noisy with excessive backlash. Will soon need service/replacement.

Left hand high beam headlight failure.

General Comments:

The car just seems to keep going... When I purchased the car it had done a lot of 'country' kilometres, but I have had no major problems.

Interior styling is dull but functional.

Steering is accurate and responsive. Has an excellent turning circle.

Wagon is quite spacious.

Would benefit from a more powerful engine when carrying heavy loads.

1990 Nissan Pintara GLi 2.0 EFI from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A cheap-to-run economy car.

Faults:

Clutch failed after 6 months of purchase.

Driver's side mirror lacks tension and dips while driving.

Alternator required a rebuild.

Starter motor required a rebuild.

Fuel pump required replacement.

MAJOR: A pipe recently blew while travelling on the freeway. This in turn caused the engine to fail. A re-conditioned engine was bought and installed to get it back up and running.

General Comments:

Even though I have spent a lot of money and a lot of time, it has been a good car in between.

It does have power for what it is, however, the 2.4 version would have been a better choice given the weight of the chassis.

It would have been good to have power steering and/or air conditioning.

The turning circle without power steering limits it severely.
