2017 Opel Insignia EDI Turbo ecoFLEX 2.0 turbo petrol from Sweden
Summary:
If you can, buy one. You'll fall in love with it at first sight
Faults:
Lubrication failure (oil pump gasket). Over time, the oil pump O-ring hardens and no longer seals properly, causing the pump to draw in air.
Crack in the rubber hoses of the intercooler system.
Leaks in the antifreeze system are usually due to faults in the EGR valve cooler and radiator.
To avoid problems like these, I realized that you have to shorten the oil change intervals and use high-quality lubricants.
General Comments:
This car is a combination of excellent aerodynamics, great ride comfort and a very high top speed.
Driving it, whether on long or short journeys, is a real pleasure. If I had to make a comparison, for me it far surpasses the Audi A3 I owned previously.
The car's strengths can be summarized as exceptional fuel economy, thanks primarily to ecoFLEX technology, aerodynamic optimizations, and long gear ratios. This results in very low fuel consumption figures, ideal for long journeys. It consumes more in the city, but nothing extraordinary.
Another strong point, as I mentioned before, is the ride comfort. The ride quality is outstanding. It boasts a spacious cabin and a generous trunk, especially this sedan version. All the materials and components are top-notch, absolutely nothing to envy in any premium brand car.
The design is truly captivating. It ages beautifully, with a muscular and attractive exterior. The interior is just as gorgeous as the exterior; mine has beige seats.
The engine, besides being quite economical, has exceptional power; almost 250 hp from a 2-liter engine delivers fantastic performance. It accelerates like lightning, offers generous torque at low revs, making overtaking easy and providing a relaxed driving experience.
The only thing that could be improved, in my opinion, has to do with the weight and the lack of agility on narrow streets or very winding roads, since the car is quite heavy and you can feel it.
After almost 10 years, the car is practically new, which shows how well it's made. Even though I take great care of it, there's no difference between the first day I used it and today.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

All modern cars require you to depress the clutch to start - doesn't matter whether you have an auto or manual trans, cos with an auto you have no clutch. Nor whether your handbrake is manual or electric. It stops any car left in gear from leaping into a stationary object at the front or rear when the key is turned.
