1989 Opel Vectra GL 2.0i from Finland

Summary:

Comfortable yet speedy family car

Faults:

Power steering started to leak at 180 000km, repair costs were approximately 200 euros.

Front wheel bearings started make noise at 190 000 km, repair costs about 100 euros.

General Comments:

This car has very good performance rate for a family sedan, 10 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h and top speed of 200 km/h.

Vectra is very enjoyable and silent to drive.

Very good car for summer trips and even better for winters.

This one starts even on a -30 degrees winter night.

1989 Opel Vectra GLS 2.0 i from Poland

Summary:

Speedy and economic

Faults:

Well, this was not a new car, but I really knew what may be, as I decided to get the same car as that previous. Not much to say I loved first one, and didn't like else. Things going wrong were not much serious, as cooling pump leaking, silencer to replace, whistling brake, coolant temperature pickup faulty, sticky rear damper (knocking) at purchase.

I fixed all in trusted by me service, and within next year (10 000 km) had no need to visit.

General Comments:

I drove many cars, but this one I find exceptional for good power combined with comfortable automatic speed gear. This results in low RPM when driving moderate, silent inside and outside, good (comparing to engine volume) economy. No need to think about costs on highway, as fuel consumption reaches moderate 7/100 at 140/h

Good ventilation and heating and those small nice details working perfect.
