1995 Peugeot 205 Mardi Gras review from UK and Ireland
"Fantastic cheap first time car (apart from road tax)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Lazy starter motor, seems weather dependent. Starts better in warmer weather.
Replaced offside driveshaft at 90,000 miles.
New air filter, fuel filter, and oil filter at 87,000 miles.
General comments?
As a first time driver and my first car, I love its quirky little ways.
It's always been very nippy. The previous owner also had it for a learner car, and it suffered front end damage, which creased the bonnet and offside wing. The only thing to come from that is now the offside headlight pops out of place every now and again.
The only problem I have with it now is the gear link system has a little pin that keeps falling out, and I`m then unable to change gear. I am not sure what it`s called, but it`s a solid pin about an inch long and 7mm diameter. Unfortunately now the pin escaped grr. Has anyone else had this problem?
