1997 Peugeot 605 SLi 2.0 16v from Denmark

Summary:

Frances answer to Jaguar!

Faults:

Nothing really.

I had to change the exhaust, but that is normal. Quite expensive, but you have to regard that this is also a high end car. Had new tyres fit PIRELLI P6! Best tyres for any car and balancing (can only be done at Peugeot) stopped the vibrations. The heat in the seats has stopped working, but that is typical for both Peugeot and Citroen (same parts).

General Comments:

The car gives you a feeling of safety and agility on the road. With its weight of 1500 kg it is really a cruiser! The model came with leather seats that are really comfy. The cabin is very spacious and there is plenty of legroom in the backseat. The engine is a 2.0 which is fairly small for a car this size, but will still give you sufficient power for fast maneuvers and overtaking. This is a great car which is heavily underestimated. Plus that it is also ridiculously cheap in all countries compared to other cars! I have had no problems with reliability! No breakdowns. Get one if you can!

1997 Peugeot 605 Executive 2.0 turbo CT from France

Summary:

Perhaps the best car of the 20th century

Faults:

Nothing. Everything has been OK until today!

General Comments:

Previously, I had a peugeot 405 SRi 1.9. It was a very good car, and I didn't want to change it. It had 242000kms when I sold it, and I've never had any problem. When I saw the 605, I thought it would be too expensive for me, but the price was reasonable, and I bought it. It was the best thing I did in my life.

It is really reliable. Sometimes, I could think I'm sitting in front of my TV (no noises, comfort), and sometimes driving a Formula One car because of the acceleration. The only problem is that the next car will have be better, and it won't be easy...

Information: 150 hp, less than 10 liters for 100 km. A dream!!

If you chip a 605 diesel you can get 155hp (180 if you buy an intercooler) and the consumption will be around 5 litre/100km.

1997 Peugeot 605 SV 2.5 turbo diesel from Norway

Summary:

Super reliable diesel beast with mini consumption and formula one handling!

Faults:

Nothing out of the ordinary.

In fact the things you would expect to go wrong haven't!

Danger, rust attack right behind the front wheel, but after 10 minutes with zinc and rubber paint it is as good as new.

The only rust on the whole car!

General Comments:

Very comfortable and reliable diesel beast with consumption like a mini (4.7 litre per 100 km), also one of the best cars in the world to drive. All the power (300 nm) at 2000 RPM!

What can be better?
