2001 Plymouth Neon from North America

Summary:

Cheap, but runs good once money is invested into it

Faults:

Since I have had my Neon, the radiator cracked at 59000, the valve cover at 60000, the oil pressure sensor at 61000, then the wheel axle went bad, and recently the struts at 72000.

General Comments:

But other than those items going bad, the car runs good and gets me where I need to go.

It's fast on the highway, and it doesn't burn gas that much. It fits in small spot, and overall I can't complain. I'm blessed to have a good running car like the Neon.

2001 Plymouth Neon LX 2.0 from North America

Summary:

If it was the last car on earth, I'd ride a bike

Faults:

The sun roof and doors leak.

Had to replace alternator and battery.

The a/c went, along with the cruise control.

My ignition won't turn and leaves me stranded at the worst of times.

The tape player broke.

On one of my wheels all of the studs broke and the wheel fell off while I was driving. Only the dealer touched the wheels prier. Two of the other wheels also have broken studs.

I have rear manual windows, and one of them has had to be fixed twice.

My motor idles rough.

My power steering makes a lot of noise.

I got a 75,000 mile warranty and the dealer and warranty place tell me it only covers stuff inside the motor and trans. That's not the millions of problems, YET!

General Comments:

If you look at Neons keep in mind, the car is awesome to drive at first and the interior is to die for. This car sells itself. Once you sign though, That's IT YOUR BROKE AND STRANDED!

I also have a 2001 Neon LN, but in 30,000 miles of driving it I have had NO problems. I have no complaints other than it rides a little hard. But, most other cars in it's class do too.

As far as dealers go, you get some that are "hacks" as far as service. You also get lucky and get a good one. I do notice the attitude of most technicians is "it isn't mine", and are racing to get done and do a hack repair. I have found the smaller dealers do much better service.
