1984 Pontiac 6000 review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Morning sickness!!! Went through 3 rack and pinions before getting the upgraded version with a steel collar instead of aluminium. Dark brown paint cracked within a couple of years.
I have replaced starter (2) and alt (3), battery (2), computer, heater coil (2), waterpump, radiator, hoses, engine mounts (2), tranny mounts, wiper arm, windshield pump, seat mounts and frame, head liner, carpeting, stereo, "A" frame bushings, passenger and driver locks, door pins, upper dogbone mount (2), tires (2), shocks (2), struts, rebuilt carb @80K, most of the bulbs, console loose, seats repaired, head gasket at 145k.
General comments?
Love this car, I drive it hard. The only complaints really, are the rack and pinion and the paint, otherwise this is car is excellent. Parts are cheap, plentiful, and easy to get. Has a lot of torque, great on the highway. Car was purchased as a 2 door with performance heavy duty options and little luxury.
