My first car was a 76 Firebird E-Spirit V8 350 turbo. And that is the best car that I ever owned.

I took it out one day during the winter and ended up totaling it. The honey comb grill was perfect and it had the original 5 star rims. My father gave it to me when my mom died. I thought that it was gonna be a dud because we went to get it out of a field with the grass higher than the car. We changed the battery and put some gas in it, and it fired right up. With a couple hundred bucks put into a tune up, it ran like it was right off the line.

I have had a customized Buick Park Ave, and that didn't hold a flame to the E-Spirit. Car, if you're out there somewhere, I miss you and one day I will have you again. Till then don't rust.

My very first car was a 1976 Firebird Esprit, baby blue with a white vinyl top and blue interior.

I received it in July 1982 on my 16th birthday. My Dad bought it from the original owner, and it was the first car he had ever purchased, so it was all original parts.

Dad replaced the windshield wiper motor shortly after he bought it for me. I drove her for 4 years, including after I graduated back and forth to college, and took her on several road trips for fun and to family in other states.

I kept the oil changed in her, lubed regularly. I replaced the thermostat at about 80 k miles, and put a new set of tires on her, and replaced the back ones another time as well.

I could absolutely kick myself for getting rid of that car. It truly was the most reliable car I have ever owned. If you have one, hold onto it; you have no idea what a jewel of a car you've got.

I have a 1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit with a 400 4 speed. Does anyone know how many of these were made with that motor?
