"One the most reliable and awesome cars ever made"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Original starter was getting sensitive to heat and was replaced (although it still started the car).

General comments?

This has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. I had a '94 Cadillac Eldorado that had a dash computer that shorted out and was $700 to fix (only fix, to replace it was $3000.) After that I decided to get an older car that wasn't tied down by all those electronics, and by chance found a 1976 Firebird Esprit on eBay. It is a one owner car, and I bought it for $2700 and it has been my daily driver to college for the past 3 years, about 22 miles each way sometimes a few times a day.

I have put 30,000 miles on the car and have never broken down despite the car having almost every original piece that it left the factory with.

The starter started getting sensitive to heat last summer, and would require a cool down before it would turn on after driving extended periods and I had it replaced. My mechanic told me that it appeared to be the original part from 1976.

Over Spring Break my girlfriend and I took it from Baltimore to Key West and back with no problems. It is in great shape and I have actually won some trophies in shows despite it being my daily driver. If America still made cars like this, there would be no problems with the industry today!

I sure miss my 1976 Firebird. It sure was a good car. I even had it painted. She looked super with all new moldings and so on.
