The real American Dream
I replaced the exhaust system at 65,000 miles.
I replaced the timing chain and gear at 75,000 miles.
The plastic hand grip material cracked and eventually broke off of the steering wheel in pieces, no doubt from the hot summers in New Mexico. I replaced it with a universal sport steering wheel.
This was a nice car. It was bright red with a white interior and black carpeting. Hidden headlights and factory fender skirts made it a real looker.
One of the things I really loved about the windshield wipers was the unique double-jointed action. The wipers came up out of their concealed resting place, fanning upward and then outward, moving straight sideways for a bit, all the way to the extreme outer edges of the glass. They cleared the entire windshield, except for a tiny "V" shaped area at the middle top. Good job, Pontiac.
The buckets were very comfortable and the ride was quiet and smooth. Factory air conditioning made it a joy to drive on long trips.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
