General Comments:

Van was great it drove awesome and accelerated better then some cars I’ve drove. It looked like a dust buster, but it always ran it was still running strong when we gave it to another family member who drove it for another 10,000 km before the cigarette lighter caught fire and the interior lights, instrument lights, head lights, radio etc. stopped working and they drove it to the scrap yard.

Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor does not work.

The gas gauge would be just as useful if it were a sticker, have to use to odometer.

Very soft floaty suspension.

General Comments:

The engine still has plenty of punch at 270,000 miles.

All dents pop-out within 5 minutes of an accident.

Plastic body looks brand new.

Our 1992 transport has 310000km, still running fine.

The transmision is starting to get sticky.

Yes, we have replaced rad's, heater core, misc, however it has not been a bad vehicle.

We drive a fair bit of country road and this is a problem with the plastic body not being very solid. The rattles are bad after much country driving.

I bought a 92 Trans Sport and love the way it drives. but have minor reliability issues with electrical components as well. Bought it as-is and put only minor work in it to make it roadworthy - brake drums, emergency brake pull handle, and front sway bar. Very stable and easy to drive minivan. If you find it floaty when driving have your sway bar checked as it is likely cracked or like mine in two separate pieces.

This is a good vehicle, but for those who complain about repairs, think about the positives of this vehicle and the repairs will seem far less of an issue. You will be hard pressed to find another minivan that matches the Trans Sport for comfort and practicality with the same style. Luckily this is no Caravan or Windstar. Even the newer versions at GM really compare to their older but more unique siblings.

Summary:

It simply will not die!

Faults:

This year, the driver side seat belt had to be replaced.

As of this year, the gas light remains on.

Only minor repairs had to be preformed; brakes, tires, etc.

General Comments:

This van is extremely reliable. With the 3.8L engine and the fibreglass body, it is very quick and responsive. For a van, it is very fun to drive. The single seats are light in weight and are easy to remove and put back in. All in all this is a great van. After 10 years of owning it, in the last year it received its first tune-up. An all round great vehicle, very reliable, a worthy investment.
