1997 Pontiac Trans Sport review from North America

"Not worth the repairs to buy one for dependable family travel"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I bought my 1997 Pontiac Trans sport at 166,747 miles on it. I bought it in 2005 and it was a good vehicle. Then it started having problems. My left rear brake light went out, so we fixed it, but it just kept happening and to this day does not work.

I have all seven bucket seats and the things to take them out are broke so my seats are not removable anymore.

My slider door does not lock or unlock; unless you do it manually.

My radio display has never worked.

My horn kept blowing fuses, fixed it, now it does not work at all.

The handle on the rear gate; the spring is broke and I cannot open it period.

The bolt on the inside of the passenger mirror broke and my mirror fell out. It did not move to begin with unless you moved it manually.

The left rear spring is broke.

My heater does not blow except for on defrost.

The A/C does not work.

Hood paint gone.

My fuel gage doesn't work anymore and when it did, it would go from full to empty in 2 seconds and vise versus.

Rear washer motor is gone, so that does not work.

There is a constant whining, that almost sounds as if I need power steering fluid; well that is full.

I drive it in the rain and it will just die.

I have replaced the serpentine belt, male-female ends on electrical, tie-rod ends, fuel filter, fuel pump, left wheel bearing and hub assembly, power steering pump, water pump, and right wheel bearing and hub assembly.

I am sure there is more that I am missing here, but I will not buy another one. My sister and brother-in-law bought the Montana version and I said good luck with that. Put me on that list of aggravated owners that wants some justice from GM.

General comments?

The car is a decent ride. Seats are comfortable.
