1999 Renault Safrane Executive 2.5 20V from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A stunning car which is very large and very comfortable if a little thirsty

Faults:

Nothing as yet.

General Comments:

The Safrane is a huge car and very comfortable.

It is very well made with all fixtures and fittings feeling very well put together.

The one bad thing is it drinks like a fish.

Surely any large petrol car with a decent sized engine that is comfortable will be thirsty?

1999 Renault Safrane Executive 2.O 16v from UK and Ireland

Summary:

You could be proud to arrive anywhere in this car

Faults:

None as yet.

General Comments:

I wrote off (insurance) my 1994 2.0 vi listed in a previous review.

I have replaced it with a 1999 2.0 16v executive model bought privately.

I've never liked leather upholstery before, but I do now!

The car has an excellent air conditioning system with a digital display and the "sun" button cools the car down on a hot day in seconds.

The C.D. / radio is ace!

Renault have put so many little innovations in the car that you never know what you are going to find next!

The previous owner has loved and cared for this car and my only complaint is that the replacement alloy wheels are starting to pit.

The car mentioned is the Volvo engined 2.0 one which is supposed to be the best all rounder.

I still have the car and I am now towing a touring caravan with it (Avondale avocet 2 berth)

I have had to have 2 new alternators fitted, the second was because the first was incorrectly fitted, but did not show up until after the warranty had ran out!

Otherwise I have had no trouble with the car at all and would recommend them if they were not now a little dated!

If you want a bargain cruiser, the Safrane is the car, but you can't have mine yet.
